Book giveaway, Buckley's Story

I just read a wonderful book called Buckley’s Story. Buckley is a wonderful Tortie cat that was rescued and ended up at an animal hospital. Well one of the gals that worked there took the cat on as her office cat. And so she writes a book about this terrific cat.

This is not only the story of Buckley, but the author, Ingrid King, goes into what great lessons the cats teach us about life. It is a lesson that I have heard about many times but never connected it to my cats. And that is to live for the present day and not worry about tomorrow etc. Anyway, I really enjoyed the book and it does have a sad ending but it is very well written and I truly enjoyed it.

To let me know if you want to be in the draw for the book, just leave me a comment. One of these many cats will do the drawing on Tues. morning and I will get in touch with the winner.

Also if you would be interested in buying the book, just go to Amazon.com.

Aw, I love books like this! It sounds lovely. Please enter me in the drawing (and send the cats a little catnip and pets their way as a bribe to pick me...) :)

I'm sure you have, but if you haven't read the Dewey and Homer books! Homer the Blind Cat especially -- one of the absolute best books I've ever read!

cool. This is another book that I will add to my list :). I bet you have read Dewy the library cat. It's such a wonderful story. I am going to read Homer's Odyssey soon. I heard it's an excellent book.

I reviewed this book on my blog! I liked it a lot, and my human got to hang out with the author at the Cat Writers Conference last November (they are both members of the Cat Writers Association, which I find kind of odd, considering neither of them is a cat).

Obviously we already have the book, so you do not need to put us in the drawing! :-)

P.S. @LoveMeow - what Your Daily Cute said - Homer's Odyssey is amazing. I reviewed it on my blog just a few weeks ago and was blown away by it. Homer rules!

Marg, that is so nice of you it really is. The book sounds lovely and while I am trying to type this my dog is spread across my lap. It's hard to type but he's happy. He just looked at ma and wondered why I am looking at cat books :-)

This sounds like a very interesting book. I like the theme of it. I think we can learn things like this from all animals. I don't want to be in the drawing because I know there are a few more people that left comments that really love cats more than I do. They deserve the book very much.

This book sounds like a wonderful story about a Tortie! We think our mommy would cry alot if there's a sad ending but she'd probably like the rest of it since who wouldn't love a story about a Tortie. Thanks for telling us about it.

I like this post. I didn't know that we can learn a lesson or two from cats. But what you've stated that -- to live for the present day and not worry about tomorrow etc.-- is indeed very important. It is not only a lesson, but a good philosophy of life. Indeed, living in the now, in the present moment, is what's matter. Yesterday is past, and tomorrow may never come. What is important is today. Thanks for sharing.

I'd love to be in the "draw" for this book! FINALLY an inspiring book about a cat! I'm sick of all those sappy dog books and movies! ;)

We'd LOVE to read about Buckley! Maybe Glogirly would finally put down that silly Patricia Cornwell.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog during the CAT-O-LYMPICS! It was a super fun week... now I need to add a new sport to my repertoire: Power Napping.

While I really like animal stories, I tend to avoid the really sad ones because I sometimes just take them much too hard...
