Feral cat Friday

Look at Maggie playing with a toy. She loves to play with this little mouse at the end of that wire. She was made some major steps to becoming friendly. Still no touching but she is not nearly as nervous. She has come up and smelled my toes (that can't be pleasant) but it is a step in the right direction.

Here I am relaxin while watching Mom read her book. I have decided that she really isn't so bad but I just don't know about this touching thing yet.  I guess you can see how much better I look now. I am beginning to put on some weight too. I was so skinny.

I think you can guess who this is. It is me, Mahoney. I am starting to get a little bigger now. Mom took me in this morning to see my cat Mom and I showed her my paw and so she spit at me. Can't blame her for that. So we left the room. I am learning how to whap everyone around here since they all whap me. I just didn't recognize my cat Mom. It has been a month now.

For those interested, that picture of the fruit on the tree is a persimmon tree. The goat and the donkeys love to eat those things.

We sure are hoping everyone has a fun day and a special week end.

Smoochies to Mahoney and Maggie! Too bad your kitty mom reacted the way she did, maybe it was more the scents you brought to her, who knows? You all have made tremendous progress, guys, and all thanks to Marg's special touch.

Yeay, Maggie! We love the cat catcher toy too! Your Mom is a wonderful person and smells a lot better than the toes you sniffed at, we're sure. Why don't you climb up her lap and take a sniff at her neck? You're looking really really good.
Little Mahoney, you are growing up so quickly!

I couldn't touch Siren for months when he first came to me
I would sit on the floor near his food each morning and just talk to him
he'd attack at time so I wore what has since been named the 'haz-cat suit'
my son's work overalls with work gloves and a high collar

Mahoney is so adorable

They are both just adorable. I am kinda surprised that Mom wasn't more friendly to her baby, but she probably feels like Mahoney is a traitor allowing the hoomin to be so close, MOL.

Maggie, humans just don't understand what smells good and what doesn't! They are funny creatures... but it actually is okay to let them touch you!

Maggie, darling, I completely understand. The whole touching thing is fraught with peril! Still, I came to like being petted (when *I* choose of course!) and getting the brushies is sheer heaven! All in good time.

Mahoney, Sorry, Kitten, Moms just lose interest in us once we move away. Sigh. But you gots Marg!

Its always good to see Maggie & Mahoney. Mahoney is as darling as ever. Its too bad Maggie didn't remember her! The Mom's 1st cat was separated from her kitten longer than a month and remembered him. Maybe Maggie was just frightened? So little Mahoney stands up for herself? So good, and so cute! Have A wonderful weekend!
