Silly cat, comes when I whistle

Hi there Mewmew here. My mom was whistling at something a couple of days ago and I went running to her. She was really surprised. So she tried it a couple more times, and I did it again. Of course I am a cat, so I don't do it every single time but about nine out of ten times.  It all depends on my mood. So here I  am coming to her.

Here I am looking at her and asking her what in the world did she want. I am here now. Don't know how much longer I am going to play this game.

I just need to get my furs straight now after all that 'coming'.  It is kind of fun to go running when she whistles.

MewMew, we think you're hanging around too many dogs! But it's nice to surprise Moms every once and awhile...keeps them on their toes!

Hello Mewmew!
I think you and I have a lot in common because I do some doggy-type stuff too. For instance, I wait at the door when I hear my pawrents come up the stairs after their day of work. I am also very good at sitting for my supper when shrimp is involved...heehee!
I got to thinking about your dog-like skills and I think you ought to share your story with www.riverdogprints.com as soon as pawsible. She is doing this thingy where she interviews cats (I was the furst one interviewed and it's LIVE today) and their owners. I was the furst one to be interviewed beclaws I suggested that cats are more important than dog interviews and tah-dah! Check it out, my furiend!

MewMew, we think you are sweet, not silly! In fact, if your mom would give you a treat when she whistled and you ran up, you'd do it 10 times out of 10. LOL.

Goodness Mewmew you are good - the only time we go to mum when she calls is when we've already heard her getting our foods ready!!

Years ago I had a friend who had a cat that would come when he whistled. I was amazed. So...now you are the second kitty I have heard of being this smart. :)

Some cats are just like that, they like to come when someone whistles. Binga comes when my human's boyfriend whistles. My human can't whistle so maybe that's why I don't do it.

MewMew, we do that too! It started a long time ago when Mommy had a dog...this is back in the stone ages, the 1980's. Anyway, Mommy trained Buddy to come to a whistle and her two Cats decided to show up too, cuz there were treats involved! Mommy got married and Daddy's Cat learned, too. And they taught all the other Cats. Et Cetera...
We all show up when she whistles, even Scouty!

MewMew...you are very smart not to mention very pretty! I never come when mom whistles because her makes funny noises trying to do a whistle!! She has to yell loudly to get my attention and sometimes that doesn't even work if I'm doing something fun in the backyard! Lots of love, Holly and moms

Hello Mewmew, what a clever trick. I think it's very smart of you not to respond to the whistle every time, don't want your assistant thinking they have control over you.

You must be very very special. I have never heard of a cat who answers to a whistle.

That's very interesting, I've know a few other cats who came for a whistle. I think it has something to do with the high pitch, like some cats come to certain musical instruments.

MewMew, we think you are one smart kitty! Or maybe your mom is just a good whistler!! But we think you should keep playing that game...at least for awhile!

When we go walking in the fields our mum whistles to us to let us know it is time to go back, and we always run to her when we hear it. She taught us to do it when we were kittens.

MewMew, you are so cute coming when your mom whistles! Just so she knows you don't have to do that every time since you are, after all, a cat and do what you please!
09/13/10 @ 20:36
That is so cute! Coco used to play fetch all the time. When there was no one to throw the mouse, she would toss it down the stairs herself and go get it to repeat.

Hope all is well with you guys :)

Mom has never whistled for us to come ~ we're not sure how we would react. We fink it would depend if TREATS were involved!
