Tabby Tuesday and dog question

Hi there Tabatha here showing off my plump belleh. I do love to show everyone my nice brown Tummy. Every time I have done something norty,  I just roll over and present my belly and Mom just laughs. Boy do I have her trained or what.

Are there any cute guys out there???  I am a little on the snotty side. Anyway there is my gorgeous belleh.

***********************************************************************

A friend of our Moms has two German Shepherd dogs that are both females. They spend the days outside in a large area with several dog houses that they can go in if bad weather comes along. She lets them in the house at night and gives them treats and plays with them.

Anyway, one of the dogs whose name is Savannah, sometimes, like maybe once a month, will eat a whole leg off of one of her pairs of jeans. She ate the whole bed skirt. I don't think she is swallowing it.  But she wanted me to ask everyone who has ever had dog if they have ever had this happen to them. Also does anyone have any ideas on how to stop this from happening??

Pretty belly indeed and I'm sure you have mom wrapped around your little paw. Just saying.

As for the chewing. Our dog chewed on everything that belonged to hubby because hubby was the alpha dog. She only did this when she was a puppy and only for a short while. Is this dog a puppy still? I would ask the vet about this. They always seem to know.

Have a terrific day. Big hug to Marg. :)

Sorry I don't know the answer to the question, as I've only had one doggie, and that was a looooooong time ago!

But I loved seeing the pics of your plump bellah, Tabby. You might want to cut back on the noms a bit, though. LOL. ^..^

Hi there

The human's dogface used to do this when she first got her. We found that it's either the sign of a dog who has separation anxiety (even though Dogface was in the house with the human, she ate things whenever the human wasn't in her direct line of sight), or boredom and lack of stimulation. Often a dog needs a good run rather than being in a dog house and a smallish area all day. Recommend to your friend that she takes the dogs for a longer walk directly before bed, or that she gives them a long free run. I, or that is to say the human, often finds that it's beneficial to feed dogfaces directly before sleepy time too, as digestion means that the body gets sleepy. High protein foods are the hardest to digest, so do this the best. Hope this helps!

Our mom says Tia is absolutely right and to try her suggestions. WE have a different idea: We think the dog is just getting "one leg up" on the mom. ok, ok, we know that was really bad....
Tabatha, your belleh is just so beautiful. My Sam has already started his dreadful droolin'. He knows beauty when he sees it :D

Tabatha, you are going to have all the boy kitties falling over! My human doesn't know much about dogs and I know even less (even though her boyfriend's dog is part of the household), but it sounds like Tia is on the right track. The dog here only misbehaves (barks too much or chews up something) when she is bored.

Hi Miss Tabatha - your belleh is pawsome! We don't have any advice about dogs, but our mom's brother has a dog that eats bras!!! hahaha

Oh that is a tricky way of keeping yourself out of trouble but very smart on your part.
I see Tia already gave you some excellent advice on the dog situation. I agree completely

Oh my goodness Tabitha your tums is so cute!!!

Dogs, they are so doglike, no self-respecting cat would eat a pair of jeans - LOL

Oh you have such a cute belly Tabatha! Our mommy would love to snorgle it!

We don't know why a dog would eat that stuff when there's food around. Our big sisfur Sadie doesn't chew on anything but treats and food.

Tabatha does have a cute belleh. I'll bet you've got Mom wrapped around your little paws.

A jeans-eating dog. Nope, never heard of it. But I had a beagle that licked a tree. Almost licked the bark clean offa that tree. She was a weird dogs. Dogs are weird. I'll betcha your dog eats jeans just because she's weird! And that's probably chronic. LOL

Have a great week. Oh, guess what, we're getting more snow! Surprise!

OK Cats' comment made me LOL:
"We don't have any advice about dogs, but our mom's brother has a dog that eats bras!!! "

Yeah.. your belly is cute. I think you gained weight Tabatha. :)

About dogs, I don't have the slightest idea about them. We only have cats in the place where I am renting. :)

Take care!

The only way to get a dog to stop chewing or eating thing is to train. Be consistent and reward good behavior. You might think to look into a Taste Deterrent, a good one is Apple Bitter Spray, spray it on the jeans in question and once the dog tries to chew on them they'll get a taste and then they will learn that chewing things they aren't suppose to will produce a foul taste.
