This is Scafflaw post #2

This is our second scafflaw which is being hosted by our friend   Fin

This is our lovely Hamper in the bathroom. Does this look like it is all right?? Mom doesn't think so. But we don't know any rules like all other cats in the world. So guess what, we had a lot of fun with it.

Does Black look a tiny bit guilty to you??? But how can we blame this Scafflaw on that cute face. Black says that he didn't know about any rule not to sharpen my claws on this. Where is it written??

Here we have Tabatha that looks a little guilty herself. She is just being cute and only had one claw in the Hamper. Her point is, we didn't ruin it Mom. You can still put things in it. We are sure everyone in the house had something to do with this Scafflaw.

I don't blame you; I would not be able to resist a little scratch on the hamper, too!

It looks like a good scratching post to us! You are right, it's still usable. No harm done really.

...Humans shouldn't make things that look like scratchin' posts and then wonder why we...scratch em!

We agree that as long as it's still functional, it's not a broken rule! We love Black's face when he's caught, though!

Note to Black and Tabbatha -
If the Moms buy wicker laundry baskets and leave them standing around they shouldn't blame you for using them as scratchers - they are encouraging you to to do it.

Tabatha could just be resting there and totally innocent, but we admit it looks like Black was caught in the act. But with a face and eyes like that, he's completely irresistible!

Hey, quick, scamper away from the hamper!

Yep, that's the way it goes alright. I so remember. There is nothing sacred to a cat. There aren't any rules either. They make whatever rules there are. Just saying.

Have a purrfect day. Big hug to your assistant. :)

LOL, my laundry basket at home gets the same treatment...I find bits of wicker all over the upstairs and nobody fesses up. I just love the look on Black's beautiful little face :-)

The look on Black's face is priceless! We think wicker is one of our TOP things to sharpen on...so the no-scratch rule must be mistaken. Once again, the Humans get it wrong.

Those smart kitties know natural wicker is purrfect for scratching!

Well at least a wicker hamper is a better choice than the molding around the door, that's where the cat I used to have used to do his scratching. :)

Wicker was made for claw sharpening so we don't see a thing wrong with you using it for that. We do see two adorable kitties though!

But that laundry basket is just asking for claws :)...Actually, we do scratch lots of stuff up, but we usually don't destroy stuff, just leave marks on most everything and use our scratching posts a lot...Have a fun day, friends, stay cool...kisses and hugs to your sweet Mom...Calle, Halle, Sukki

I mean, why have an attractive, claw-magnet hamper like that if it's not for the kittehs to sharpen their claws on?

::sniggers:: oh you kittehs are such wunnerful Scafflaws! Doesn't your mum realize you are "antiqueing" (we don't think we spelled that right...) her hamper? Have a fun week - we can't wait to see what other, aherm, rules, you break!
