Update on Maggie

Hi there Maggie here. I am a very scared and somewhat mad feral kitty.  Can you see my daughter's face in my face?? I sure do miss my children. But I am getting a little used to being inside. I still don't like that lady very much or I guess I should say I don't trust her yet.

As you can see, I am still a little nervous but getting better. I just don't know about this inside living. I do get food all day long which is nice.  But that lady is still  not touching me.

Hope everyone has a really fun week end.

It is going to take some time sweet Maggie, but it sure will be worth it! For now, just enjoy the food and the love from a safe distance! Y'all have a great weekend!

Maggie, our hearts go out to you, but life in the wild is very very hard. We hope you will settle in and get a little less nervous of that lady as time goes along.

Poor Maggie, you must have been through a lot. Once hurt by humans, it's really hard to trust again. It'll come though, and you couldn't be in a more loving place for that to happen.

Have a good weekend, Marg!

Awww, Maggie. You'll be ok. Take your time until you feel comfortable, but you'll see that you are safe at last and don't have to worry about cold nights or where your next meal is coming from. That lady will take good care of you.

Poor Maggie! We hope you can trust in time. You are in a much better place. Our Mica has been here for over a year and still trusts the Mom only so far. Its a long road. You may never be a lap cat, but I hope you will get to the point where you will enjoy scratches. They're the best!

Maggie, when I first got brought inside, I didn't like it much either and I would hiss and growl and run away from the lady with the yellow hair all the time. I did this for weeks. But now I realize how good it is inside. I don't hafta worry about where my next meal would come from or when or mean predators that tried to hurt me. And I realize now that the lady with the yellow hair isn't so bad and only wants what's good for me. I wish I would have realized this a lot sooner...when I first came inside.

I hope you will realize that the lady there only wants to help you too, and to make your life even better. It's okay to trust her, Maggie. Give it a try...okay?

Maggie, being petted kinda feels good once you get used to it. I loves being petted by my Mommy now, but when I first meet her I wasn't gonna let her touch me either till she grabbed me. I couldn't get away so I just laid in her lap and she petted me and talked nice to me and it was nice and warm and before I knew it I was purring and then I fell asleep. Anyway you might wanna give the petting thing a try. ~Arty Mouse (formally a barncat now a pampered housecat)

She does look like she's frightened. When we first rescued Cosmo and Ling from the drain, they were terrified of us and would cower in fear whenever we approached. They won't let us touch them either. I would sit in the bathroom where we kept them and read a book. Took a few weeks to gain their confidence. They are still fearful of strangers though.

Maggie, I'm with you all the way! I've lived indoors for five years and The Mommy Person still cannot touch me. The Daddy person, either. BUT, the food is good...I got out once and came right back in because there's no sliced deli ham on the outside.

Maggie, it's too bad you didn't grow up with the love of humans but we're glad you are getting it now, even if it doesnt' involve being touched. You are a pretty ladycat and we're so glad you are safe!

It takes time to trust. Gemini still is not fully trusting of anyone except maybe the Woman and then only when she feels like she wants to be trusting. I think that having food all the time is a very good thing though.

It's much better to be living on the inside Maggie. You get lots of lovely food and a roof over your head so you don't have to be out in bad weather.
PS
Don't worry about the electric fence. Mum always turns it off before we go in the fields.

Oh Maggie
I know it seems odd but you are so lucky that Marg is taking such good care of you. It is difficult I know to be inside when you are used to being outside, but it just so much safer. WE are glad that you are starting to feel better about things.

Oh Maggie, I understand, really I do. But things will get better--the Humans can be really, really stupid and irritating, but the foodz are good, and eventually you'll get used to the pettings, or even better, the brushings. Brushies are the BEST! Also, it's nice to be warm and safe.

Purrs & nosetaps!

Petting can be furry relaxing. Eat a big lunch, lie down, and let the food lady squizzle your ears. You're going to love it.
