Ande is our resident Border collie. We talked about Jasmine, the Australian Shepherd so now it is Ande’s turn. The poor dogs get left out of the blog most of the time so now it is their turn. Ande has a funny name and she is a girl. Her name came from the town of Anderson. When Mom moved to Anderson, she was trying to make friends and so she got a

Border collie in hopes of doing the herding scene. So we came up with the name of Ande, short for Anderson.
Ande tried really hard to herd those sheep but she had a hard time doing it. She would go nuts running after the sheep and so I think she just wore herself out too soon. But she has her goats here at home to herd. That is if they let her herd them. Only one of the goats will pay any attention to her.
We did do the obedience classes and Ande was the star of that. It was a lot of fun and those classes are fantastic for socializing your puppy and teaching them some manners. She did great in everything with the exception of the sit and stay for five exercise. She could not stand doing that. It was just too tough.

These Border collies do need to have jobs to do or they get very nervous. I think Ande would run all day long if she could. But she is a very smart and very loving dog. She never lets me out of her sight and she loves all people.
