LOOK LOOK the gate is open

We had two lovely horse guests for two months here and we were very upset because Mom had us in jail sort of. The guests went home last week so their Mom could get started riding them.  We couldn't go out in our front field. So now we are able to go out there and believe us, we are not leaving it.  There are some great shade trees out in the front and they are a great place to stay to get a little bit cooler. Anyway, we are excited to be free again.

Hi there Tabatha, nice of you to visit us in our field.

Donkey trivia

Donkeys are the smallest members of the horse family.  A male donkey is sometimes called "jack" and a female a "jenny". There are three categories of size for donkeys: miniature, standard and  mammoth.Their height is measured in inches at the shoulder. Miniature is 36 inches, standard up to 54 inches and mammoth over 54 inches. Donkeys can live for 25 to 35 years. Coloring ranges from light grey to chocolate brown.

We're pleased you got your field back and the other horses have gone home to their mom. Thanks for the info on the donkeys - I think they are lovely animals and are one of my favourites (probably from getting rides on the beach on them when I was a little girl) albeit rather stubborn ones.

Hurrah! You have YOUR field back again! Enjoy the shade trees and visitors like Tabatha.

The Donkey facts were very interesting. We like learning new things; we never imagined that Donkeys came in sizes! Um, which size(s) are you two?

I just love that last picture with Smoke and Tabitha together -- it's so very sweet.

I'm glad the donkey boys have their field back now, so they can roam at will.

Guests are nice, but you generally get pretty tired of them in short order.
