A tribute to Lil Bo Peep (Peepers)

We all wanted to write a little tribute to our goat Lil Bo Peep(Peepers). She came here just about ten years ago as a small little baby. A friend of Mom's had a goat that wasn't doing well at her house so she needed to find another home for the goat Rosa. Mom had just moved here and had plenty of room so we said we would take Rosa. Well of course Rosa needed a goat friend, so we found Lil Bo Peep in someone's back yard as a tiny little baby, and we brought her home.

She was so little, she could just crawl through the fence and would get over in the neighbor's pasture with the horses and our Mom nearly had heart failure.  Rosa was kind of mean to Peep which was too bad but Peepers eventually learned to put up with Rosa. Peepers attached herself to Mom. She was kind of like a feral cat, she was totally wild around other people and not very tame around Mom. She would come when Mom called 'Peep'.

Here she is with her friends the donkeys. She was definitely in charge of the donkeys. They were scared to death of her. But they also miss her which kind of surprised Mom.

Also goats are very hard to diagnose any thing wrong with them. They have four stomachs of all things. Peepers evidently did what they call bloated. She was just full of gas and the cure would have made her very very sick and would have been very expensive.  I have always wondered why vets don't know more more treating goats and I think the problem is that people don't spend a lot of money on goats, so the vets don't get any experience treating them.  It is really too bad.

Brother Wolf Rescue, Please don't forget to go vote if you don't mind.  You can go HERE Thanks a bunch.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday

We didn't realise Peepers was friends with the donkeys - still they were more her size than the cats!
We hope this is the end of your sad time and can look forward to more laughter than tears.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

Peepers was a very pretty goat and that was a wonderful tribute to her. We bet she was quite the character. We laughed when we read that the donkeys were scared of her. Shes' probably in charge of the donkeys at the Bridget too. :-)

(((Hugs))) and kitty kisses.

A very sweet tribute to Peepers. I didn't know about goats and vets. They are very nice pets and would probably have one if we could. It would be a great way to keep the grass cut in front of the rectory, hehe! Hugs to you and now to Angel Peepers ((hugs))

We are so sorry to hear about Peepers. What a beautiful animal too. So very sad for you Marge. M loves all farm animals, so she knows you can get just as attached to a goat as you can to a kitty of dog. You did a beautiful tribute. HUGS

Aw, poor Peepers. But it sounds like she lived a good life with you and the donkeys. I'm sure you all miss her very much.

I think most people don't use heroic measures when it comes to farm animals. Which is a shame. :(
