Happy Earth Day

All of us animals here want to make our blog Carbon Neutral and the way to do that is to plant a tree.  By planting a tree, we erase the carbon footprint that a blog leaves. We don't have a tree right now to plant but we support the tress that are being planted in the Plumas national Forest in Northern California by  the Arbor Day Foundation.  A while back there was a huge forest fire and it destroyed  88,OOO acres of trees.  The goal is to help reforest 5,500 acres of the Plumas national Forest with 792,000 trees. So that is a lot of trees to get planted.

But we also enjoy the earth a lot too. Here is Gertrude sitting under a tree.

Here is Gertrude just enjoying the grass.

So we all hope everyone has a Happy Earth Day. Try to recycle or do some other green things. There sure is plenty that you can do to save the Earth.  You can rinse out your cat food cans and recycle them.  There are all kinds of things that we can all do.

We saw the carbon-neutral idea on The Island Cats and did it on the Musings site. It's a great idea!

I always recycle cat food tins, and anything else our city picks up. Plus we now have a composting program, which is great. All leftover food--human and cat--including meat, bone, fat, etc. can go in it, plus Kleenex, paper towel, etc. Really cuts down on garbage. Now if they could only compost kitty litter!

Gertrude is so cute! You mentioned in your comment today on our blog that there are therapy cats. CANIDAE has actually been looking for some to sponsor -- if you know of any, could you send me information on them? Thanks!

Awwwww Gertrude! You look very pretty under that lovely tree and on that green grass! Your mum Marge is doing a great job celebrating Earth Day by ensuring her blog is carbon neutral and doing so by supporting tree planting! Me and Charlie hope that Plumas National forest will continue to recover! Yay for Marg and all at Marg's pets! And yay to recycling as much and as often. Every little helps our one and only home. Happy, happy Earth Day! Take care x

AWWW I love the pix!!! My kitty and dog love to sit outside and enjoy the grass and sun. Then of course the dog digs for cat poop and recycles. Does that count for Earth Day?

Have enjoyed reading, we also have an elderly cat (18) which is not always a good combination with a young toddler, but he is gradually learning to handle her properly.
