When my fiancé and I bought our first house there was a lot of work that needed to be done. We decided to do all the work on our own. Our first project was the main bathroom. First we tore out the vanity, toilet, and bathtub. Then, we used sledgehammers and knocked out the tile that surrounded the bathtub and shower. After that we ripped out all the old flooring. We decided we wanted something personal and unique so we made our own tiles. We went to the Local Sears Home improvement and bought small pieces of tile and water stones. We used those materials to make our own tile for the floors. We used the same water stones for the wall surrounding the bathtub  and shower. Then my fiancé made a new vanity out of Cherry wood and used burgundy color granite for the top. We went with the bowl sink look and used a deep brown mocha color bowl for the top of the vanity. We also went and got a new bathtub and shower head with all new fixtures. After two weeks of hard work and almost six thousand dollars, our bathroom became my favorite room in the house.
